Nice to have just in case
Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2024This tape is a good item to have on hand just in case you need to seal up small leaks. Make sure the surface is clean of dust and oil and press it down tight. The material is strong and the adhesive sticks well to almost everything.

Reviewed in Canada on April 1, 2024This butyl foil tape is very strong, once it adheres for a few hours, it is virtually impossible to remove. I have been getting a leak from my exhaust fan and can see where it is seeping in when I went to the roof, I plan on using this from inside and outside to do an easy fix for now. It is simple to use, just cut off the length you need, remove the backing and stick it on, rubbing with your hands for minute or so to help mould it. It is basically like a sealant / putty with a waterproof cover overtop. Because butyl tape is solvent based, if you get some strong solvents on it, like gasoline or turpentine on it, it can melt; so you could, with difficulty, remove and clean it up. Can be used to repair an assortment of things, even as a temporary cover up after car damage. The temperature range that it claims is pretty impressive, -40 to 110, that I did not test.
